Cannabis
Also known as marijuana, cannabis is the most commonly used plant drug for recreational, medicinal and spiritual purposes. The plant has 500 different chemical substances, but only a few have been studied (EntheoMedicine). Its two main active ingredients are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the primary psychoactive component, and cannabidiol (CBD), which has been used to treat epilepsy, anxiety, insomnia and chronic pain (EntheoMedicine). Cannabis has also been used in assisted psychotherapy to guide patients through a psychedelic experience which enables them to reflect on and solve their emotional issues. Some people use cannabis to achieve mindfulness and artistic inspiration. With further research, it is possible that cannabis may offer a new solution to patients suffering from Parkinson's Disease.
